The Parents Fund is Princeton's annual fund-raising effort involving non-alumni current and past parents and grandparents. For sixty years, Princeton parents have helped sustain and enhance the Princeton experience.
The Annual Giving Parents Fund helps maintain the high level of opportunities for the thousands of students fortunate enough to experience a Princeton education. Providing an excellent education as Princeton does is an expensive proposition. The 5:1 student-faculty ratio, world-renowned faculty, and state-of-the-art facilities, all cost money.
Parents Make a Difference Unrestricted gifts to the Princeton Parents Fund go to work immediately to benefit current students. Amazing as it may seem, even at the present level, tuition only covers 36% of the total cost of a year at Princeton – leaving a “gap” of $50,550 per student this year. As President Shirley Tilghman has said, “Every single student is on financial aid.” Gifts to the Parents Fund help bridge the gap by contributing directly to the University's operating budget. Volunteer for the Parents Committee Parents are the University’s best advocates in the important work of raising support for the Princeton community. Parents Committee volunteers play a vital role for Annual Giving by encouraging fellow Princeton parents to join in supporting the University through time and philanthropy. They also participate in on-campus and regional events, sharing their experiences as Princeton parents.
