Tiger Athletics Give Day (#TAGD) returns for its fourth year on Tuesday, November 28, 2017. This 24-hour online giving challenge is a significant source of support for Princeton’s 37 varsity sports teams. Each successive #TAGD has surpassed the record of the previous year, with a total of 8,500 donors in 2016.
The friendly fundraising competition, spearheaded by Princeton University’s Athletics Friends Groups and the Princeton Varsity Club, puts Athletics Friends Groups of similar sizes into brackets to compete against one another in challenges for total number of donors and total dollars raised. Top finishers in these brackets are awarded bonus funds made possible by the Princeton Varsity Club Board of Directors and Advisory Committee.
Follow each team’s progress on social media and check out the leaderboards throughout the day at www.tigerathleticsgiveday.com.
“The enthusiasm and participation on Tiger Athletics Give Day has been overwhelming, and is a testament to the value of the department’s mission of Education through Athletics,” said Mollie Marcoux Samaan ’91, Ford Family Director of Athletics. “Donations to the Athletics Friends Groups and Princeton Varsity Club allow Princeton’s student-athletes to achieve, serve, and lead at the highest levels in the classroom, in the community, and on the field of play.”
