Princeton University lost one her most important leaders and supporters on April 9, 2008. Known for his broad smile, optimistic outlook, and tireless efforts on behalf of the University he loved, Jay Sherrerd played an instrumental role in helping Princeton to thrive. He served two terms as a charter trustee, twice chaired the board’s Resources Committee, and served as vice chair of the Executive Committee. With 34 years of service, he was by far the longest serving member of the Annual Giving Committee. He also co-chaired the Anniversary Campaign for Princeton (1995-2000), served on the PRINCO board, served on the Robertson Foundation board for 25 years, and chaired its investment committee for 30 years.
